Try Run/Walking At First

You may not be able to even run an entire mile, and that's okay. Start out slowly, running just a minute at a time, then walking for a minute. Continue this pattern over and over again until you reach half of a mile. Then work your way up to a mile, adding in more running and less walking. When you are able to run an entire mile, add another half of a mile if you want to go further.

Grab A Buddy

The solitude of running may be too boring for you, and this may be why you have a problem with running. Grab a buddy to start on this running journey with when you aren't with your fitness trainer. If you have someone with you, you may be more apt to continue on your goal of becoming a runner.
